On March 29, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Worthville Road and WOW Road in reference to an unconscious subject in a vehicle. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a female subject unconscious in the driver’s seat of a passenger car. Randleman Fire Department was already on scene tending to the female subject. It was reported that upon their arrival, the vehicle was still running and there was a child sitting on the subject’s lap. Shortly after, the female regained consciousness and was identified as Sarah Elizabeth Lassiter. Upon removing her from the vehicle, cocaine was located. Lassiter was not arrested at the time of the incident.
The deputy presented the case to the magistrate who found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor child abuse, and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of juvenile.
On March 30, 2022, Lassiter turned herself in and was served her warrant at the Randolph County Detention Center. She was issued a $10,000 unsecured bond and a first appearance is scheduled for April 4, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
