On April 22, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Finch Farm Rd., Trinity. The vehicle failed to yield and turned right on the Interstate 85 South on ramp. The suspect vehicle continued down the on ramp while swerving off of and back on to the on ramp. The deputy saw an extreme amount of movement occurring in the driver and passenger seat area. After the vehicle made it to the Interstate, the deputy observed the passenger, later identified as Kendall Taylor Rogers, and driver, later identified as Ethan Bradford Chambers, change seating. When the vehicle came to a brief stop on the side of the interstate, Chambers, now the passenger, exited the vehicle and fled on foot into the wood line. The suspect description was relayed to communications and other deputies. Chambers had two outstanding orders for arrest out of Randolph County for failure to appear.
The vehicle then accelerated again and a chase ensued, coming to a stop just before the Davidson County line. When the vehicle stopped a male rear seat passenger was displaying his hands out the back glass area of the vehicle. Commands were given for the subjects to exit the vehicle and they complied.
Additional deputies responded to assist. During an inventory of the vehicle, Chambers’ inmate ID was located. High Point Police Department responded with a K9 in an attempt to track Chambers, but was unsuccessful.
The rear passenger was released. Rogers was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, Driving while license revoked, rear lamps violation, and failure to maintain lane control. She received a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 24, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
A warrant was sought for Ethan Bradford Chambers and the magistrate found probable cause to issue for felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor driving while license revoked, misdemeanor reckless driving - wanton disregard, misdemeanor resisting public officer, rear lamps violation, and for failure to maintain lane control.
On May 5, 2023, Chambers was located in Guilford County, arrested and transported to the Guilford County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding warrant and issued a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 31, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
