On May 9, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Detective received information that registered sex offender, Danny Roosevelt Ruffin had been on property designated as a place for child care and an investigation was initiated.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Ruffin and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for three counts of felony sex offender on child premises.
On May 16, 2023, Ruffin was located on NC HWY 22N and placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding warrant and the magistrate issued a $75,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 17, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
