On February 11, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s office responded to New Salem Rd. in Randleman, in reference to Trespassing. Upon arrival, the complainant / victim, advised subjects were trespassing on his property and possibly had stolen items. Another subject had obtained photos of the vehicles and persons involved. While investigating, deputies noticed one the vehicles passing by the property and followed the vehicle. A traffic stop was attempted on New Salem Road, but the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle fled into a neighboring jurisdiction and the chase was terminated due to adverse weather conditions.
On February 12, 2023, upon further investigation of the incident, the driver was identified as Justin Steven Roark. Charges were therefore sought against Roark and the magistrate found probable cause based on the evidence provided for charges of felony flee/elude arrest w/motor vehicle, misdemeanor fictitious/altered title/registration card/tag, misdemeanor driving while license revoked - not impaired revoked, misdemeanor drive left of center, misdemeanor fail to burn headlamps, misdemeanor fail to stop-steady red light, and misdemeanor fail to stop for a stop sign/flashing red light.
On May 16, 2023, Roark was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant and an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear. He was issued $12,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for May 17, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
During this apprehension, deputies encountered two other subjects that were wanted out of Randolph County: Jesse Wayne Hawks and Rodney Darrell Alan Bell.
Hawks, 37, was wanted out of Randolph County on an order for arrest for failure to appear and was wanted as an Absconder by Probation. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served those processes and the magistrate issued a $76,000 secured bond and set next court date for May 22, 2023 at Randolph County Court House.
Bell, 29, was wanted out of Randolph County on two orders for arrest for failure to appear. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served those processes and the magistrate issued a $5,000 secured bond and set next court date for May 17, 2023, at the Randolph County Court House.
