On June 20, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to an area hospital in reference to a domestic assault that had occurred in Randolph County. Following the investigation, charges were sought and the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female against La'Kevin O. Doward.
On June 21, 2023, Doward was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrants. Bond was denied due to the charges being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for June 26, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
