On April 10, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Albemarle Rd. in reference to discharging firearms.
The Asheboro Police Department, who were in close proximity of the Randolph Inn also responded. Upon their arrival, officers encountered subjects actively fighting in the parking lot. The assailant, identified as Trevor Aaron Holmes, was detained. The scene was turned over to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office upon arrival. The victims reported that Holmes had been chasing them around the vehicle with a machete and they had been injured. Randolph County Emergency Services responded to provide care on scene.
Following the investigation, Holmes was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge of felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and two counts felony possession of firearm by felon. He was given a $35,000 total secured bond and a first appearance is scheduled for April 11, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
