On July 24, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to call for service at Needhams Trail, Seagrove, for a welfare check. Upon arrival, patrol deputies located a deceased female juvenile five years of age. The Randolph County Criminal Investigations Division responded and began a death investigation. During the investigation, evidence was located, which resulted in the arrest of Christina Ashley Myers and Billy Gene Myers, the parents of the decedent.
Christina and Billy Myers were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge of felony child abuse. Christina Myers and Billy Myers each received a $250,000 secured bond and was given a court date of July 25, 2023.
