On May 1, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a sex offense against a juvenile. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Lucas Matthew Jennings for felony first degree statutory rape and felony indecent liberties with a child.
On July 28, 2023, Jennings was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant and an outstanding warrant for a misdemeanor probation violation. The magistrate issued a $301,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 31, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
