On August 20, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Fieldcrest Ct., Asheboro, in reference to a family fight/domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputies conducted their investigation. It was determined that Rebecca Joy Elliott had thrown a shard of broken glass striking the victim in the back causing a laceration. Elliott was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Bond was denied, due to the incident being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for August 21, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
