On March 3, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team went to a residence on Rose Ave., Asheboro, in attempts to serve a felony warrant for arrest on Justin Curtis Pugh. While placing Pugh under arrest, a handgun was located in his pocket, along with suspected narcotics. VNET, along with the Vice Narcotics Unit, was contacted to assist, and a search warrant was executed. Detectives located and seized a trafficking amount of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with marijuana, alprazolam, buprenorphine, and items of drug paraphernalia. Also located and seized were five firearms, one which was reported stolen out of Davidson County, and one was determined to be a weapon of mass destruction.
As a result, Justin Curtis Pugh was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his outstanding warrant. He was additionally charged with felony trafficking in heroin, felony trafficking in methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver sch III controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver sch VI controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver sch IV controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, felony possess stolen firearm, felony possess weapon of mass destruction, felony possession of firearm by felon, misdemeanor possess drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possess marijuana paraphernalia. He received no bond due to being on pre-trial release, and a first appearance was set for March 4, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
