Sheriff's Office Significant Arrests Posted on April 07, 2026

In November 2025, members of the Invictus Task Force initiated an investigation related to multiple Cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  During the course of the investigation, John Jamie Kennedy was identified as a suspect.  

On April 7, 2026, a search warrant was executed by members of the Invictus Task Force; as a result, John Jamie Kennedy was subsequently taken into custody and charged with six (6) counts of Felony Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Kennedy was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate issued no bond and set a first appearance in Randolph County District Court for April 8, 2026. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Invictus Task Force representatives.

The Invictus Task Force is a joint effort of Randolph, Alamance, Davidson, Forsyth, Rockingham Counties, the Liberty Police Department, the State Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security in the fight against internet crimes against children (ICAC), sexual abuse, trafficking, and the exploitation of children using a collaboration of resources as a force multiplier.
